I will often add from the list above several of these suggestions in my smoothies.  I do enjoy a good combination of fruits and vegetables. 
Besides bananas and berries, grapes, tropical fruits, melons and even chunks of fresh apples can be added.
Vegetable choices are no different, besides the greens, introduce small pieces of celery, cucumber, cooked beets, carrots and many more. 
Flavor with a small piece of ginger but do start small to begin with or try a sprinkle of cinnamon or turmeric.
I do personally draw the line at onions and garlic.
Combinations of fruits and vegetables are almost endless, experiment with your own smoothie taste buds and enjoy the benefits.

This yellow fruit packs a big nutritional punch and comes wrapped in its own convenient packaging. 
  1. Bananas can help you feel happy by improving your mood.  They help overcome depression due to high levels of tryptophan, which is converted into serotonin.
  2. They are high in blood-pressure lowering potassium and very low in salt.
  3. They provide relief for GI distress.  Bananas are a natural antacid, providing relief from acid reflux, heartburn, and GERD.  
  4. Eating a banana between meals helps stabilize blood sugar and may help against binge eating.
  5. Bananas are high in antioxidants, providing protection from free radicals and chronic disease.​
  6. Eat a banana before a workout or an exam.  The high levels of potassium will help protect against muscle cramps and help keep you more alert.
  7. ​The banana peel when applied directly to bites will help relieve the itching.  They are also known to help remove a wart.
  8. Your shoes or silverware need a little shine?  To polish, apply the inside of the banana peel and buff out with a clean cloth.  (Source: Food Matters)
