8 Ways to Touch Someone on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is that special day when we can share with and let all the people in our lives know that they matter and that they are special to us each in their own unique way.

Valentine gifts should not be expensive but more a thought, a gift from the heart.  The idea is to bring feelings of joy and a smile on your relatives, friends or coworkers faces.
Share with them, those warm and happy feelings with these 8 Valentine's Day gift suggestions by Maria Gracia.

Heart Idea 1: Heart Post-It (Sweetheart or family)
Using pink Post-it Notes, write a line or two describing the positive personality traits of your `Valentine.' Next take all the sticky notes and design a heart with them on the bathroom mirror, back of a door, or on the refrigerator.

Heart Idea 2: Send a letter or card (Anyone)
There's a reason Hallmark produces 1,400 varieties of Valentine's cards. To keep with tradition, send or simply leave a Valentine's card on a co-workers desk, in a child's lunch pail, or on your sweetheart's pillow--just to name a few. Even more personal than a store bought card, is one that's handmade OR a handwritten letter sharing everything you appreciate about the recipient.

Heart Idea 3: Message in a mason jar (Parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, BFF)
Following the same principle as Idea 1, write positive comments, coupons they can turn in (for a hug, a meal, etc.), love quotes, etc. on individual scraps of paper (make about 50). Fold each paper and place inside a decorated mason jar. The recipient can pull out a positive thought from the jar every day.it makes for a great 'feel good' gift.

Heart Idea 4: Frame a photo (Anyone)
Frame a photograph, comic, or quote that you know your Valentine would enjoy. Leave it in a visible place where he or she is sure to spot it!

Heart Idea 5: Candy and a Rose (Anyone)
Give your sweetheart or anyone a simple flower arrangement. Fill a small vase with pink and red M&Ms, lemon heads, candy hearts, cinnamon heart candies, or the like. Then stick in one rose (or any flower of your choice). Just as a reminder, the color of roses send different messages:

--red: love and romance
--orange: desire, enthusiasm and passion
--yellow: friendship, joy, and get well
--lavender: enchantment, and love at first sight
--deep pink: gratitude and appreciation
--white: purity, innocence, and sympathy

Heart Idea 6: Reese's Pieces Craft (Teachers, colleagues, friends)
Fill a jar with Reese's Pieces. For the jar cover, type and print out the following saying, `Love (or Appreciate) you to pieces!'

Heart Idea 7: Phone call or text (Friends, Family and Sweetheart)
Haven't talked to Aunt Ida or Uncle Clarence lately? Pick up the phone and give them a call. Conversation is another terrific way to show your gratitude. For your sweetheart, send them a romantic text during the day.

Heart Idea 8: Soul Food (Anyone)
`The way to a man's heart is through his stomach.' This quote might be a bit antiquated and applies to women too (I love to eat!), but the meaning still applies. Bake special cookies or desserts and share with co-workers, family, and friends. If you don't have time to bake, bring bagels or a bowl of mixed fruit to work with you and share with everyone.

These great Valentine's Day gift ideas came from Maria Gracia at Get Organized Now but I'm sure you can come up with many of your own ideas for those special someones in your life.
Remember it's that special thought that really counts!

Happy Valentine's Day!!
